I found myself in front of a small cottage. I wondered why it was considered a castle. “Ok, Meghan, I’ll show you to our room. I only have one room so you’ll have to sleep with me. I hope that’s ok.”
I nodded. “I used to have to share a room with Toby until shortly before our parents died. We moved to Buckley Manor before they died. I imagine sleeping with you will be much better than Toby.”
Asher laughed. He grabbed my hand and showed me to a cozy room with a white bed. I put my trunk down and asked for the bathroom. I changed into my work clothes per Asher’s suggestion. For the next few weeks at Asher’s house, we would play in the morning. Sometimes we played board tennis, which was a miniature version of tennis. There was a board styled like a court. You would then put your stone at the “base line.” You would use your finger to control the stone which acted as your racket. Asher usually won.
In the afternoon, he would do his homework. I would use that time to read my books. I sometimes tried a couple of spells.
One time, while we were in bed, Asher whispered to me. “Meghan, I want to tell you something.”
I looked up at him. “I —- I like you.”
I smiled at him. “I like you too.”
My heart fluttered and I held his hands. I brought my lips to his. His hands slid to my back and we kissed. I snuggled up close against in his chest and he held me in. Our first kiss. After a good five minutes of snogging him, he said, “Goodnight.”
I fell asleep holding his hands.
One morning, I woke up and couldn’t find Asher anywhere in the house. He returned that afternoon and asked me shyly, “Would you like to go on a date? I figured we could eat at some fancy restaurant.”
I smiled. “That would be great.”
“See you at 5 PM tonight? Be ready and dressed.”
I nodded. I checked my internal clock. It was three o’clock. I decided I would take a bath. I rushed into the bathroom and I took a full shower - shampoo, conditioner, and I even scrubbed my whole body out. I felt fresh. I stepped out of the shower and wrapped myself in a towel. I wrapped my hair up with a towel and let it dry. I dressed in my orange strapless dress and found a pair or sandals. I then decided to wear straighten out my hair after drying it. I then summoned a flower to go in my ear. It was 4:30.
I then rested on Asher’s couch while watching Grey’s Anatomy on the television. I felt someone tap my shoulder. It was Asher. “Ready, sweetheart?” he asked.
“Of course, love.”
Asher reached out for my hand and steered me to the doorway. “Let’s go.” He kissed me on the cheek.
Half an hour later, I found myself sitting next to Asher by a pond. I opened my mouth and he feed me a piece of steak, then I feed him a piece. We laughed when we finished the plate. “Um.. Megs?” he asked me uncertainly.
I looked up, and he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box. I couldn’t resist blushing - he was so handsome - it didn’t help that he was in a tuxedo. “I made this for you. I hope you like it.”
He turned a shade of dark red as he handed over the box. I opened it slowly. Inside was a silver bracelet. There was an inscription on a heart charm. “Love You” I slipped on the beautiful bracelet and kissed him. “One more thing,” he smiled at me, “Will you be my girlfriend?”
He looked so terrified - I don’t know why. I loved him so much! “Of course!” I squealed. He smiled at me.
“I love you Megs.”
“Love you too Ash. Would you like to dance?” I asked him.
He nodded so I immediately grabbed his hand and dragged him to the dance floor. I placed my right hand against his waist and rested my left on his shoulder. He did the same. I found myself slow dancing with Asher. I hate to admit it, but he was a pretty good dancer. I took dancing lessons when I was younger and I had won several competitions. After a couple of dances, I found myself tired. “I’m tired, Asher,” I whined.
He nodded, “Me too. Let’s go home.”
He winked and lifted me into his warm arms. He then transported us onto his bed. I fell asleep, my head rested against his warm chest.
“Good morning beautiful.” Asher woke me up the one morning. I ran into him and pressed my lips against his, and he lifted me into his arms and carried me bridal style to the bathroom. I kissed him on the cheek and he dropped me in the shower. He closed the door and whispered, “I’m taking you on a date. Wear something casual.” I nodded.
After taking a nice shower, I dressed in my t-short and shorts and wore my sandals. I then pulled out a photo album I had made of all our moments. Very few know it, but with a special spell you can find all the photos of your life. I included the first time we met, the first time I arrived at his house, our first kiss, our first date. I’ve been practicing an enchantment that will have it add a new photo whenever something important happened. First, I made it very small so he wouldn’t know I had it. “Parvus,” I whispered and tapped my stone. A yellow light contracted the album into a piece of paper. I put it into my purse and stepped out.
Asher was cute. He reached for my hand and took me out to the front door. We walked to the entrance to his cozy home and then he told me, “close your eyes.”
I did. He spun me around many times. “Open,” he whispered. I did.
We were at a cabin by a waterfall. There was a comfy sofa in the cozy little cabin. We walked over to the bed and he held my hand and sat down. I gasped. “It’s —- amazing! I love you!”
He smiled, “I love you too.”
I followed him around as he gave me a tour of the tiny cottage. On the first floor was a full kitchen as well as a little living area. There were shelves of all kinds of books. He then lead me up a wooden ladder which lead to a small loft. “It’s —- amazing!”
“I built it myself,” Asher explains. “It could be our place. We could live here if you wanted.”
I smiled. “That would be awesome! When did you have time to build this?”
“When you were studying, I would sneak away here and build this. I read a lot of my homework to figure out how to build this.” my boyfriend explained.
“I did my homework too.” I told him. “I have something for you.”
He gasped. “You didn’t have to, sweetie.”
“Of course I did!”
I pulled out the piece of paper from my purse as well as my purse. I whispered, “Magnus,” and it enlarged into the photo album.
He gasped as his fingers turned each page, from us feeding each other, to him giving me the bracelet, to us dancing, to us outside the cabin. “If you want to add a photo the album, just think about the moment and then think ‘album’.” I explained.
He kissed me fiercely and said, “I love you Megs.”
I looked down at the album and saw another photo developing. Of that kiss.
“Wow, you’re truly amazing,” he smiled at me.
Weeks passed after we moved into the cabin. We both felt at home at once. One day, when Asher woke me up, he reminded me that today was the day we would get Toby to go to The Academy. He still hasn’t mentioned how he was going to get us there.
I nodded. “I used to have to share a room with Toby until shortly before our parents died. We moved to Buckley Manor before they died. I imagine sleeping with you will be much better than Toby.”
