“Meghan! Hurry up!” my twin brother Toby yelled from the kitchen. Today we were getting our supplies for The Academy. Since Toby and I were sixteen, were would be starting our first year at The Academy.
I grabbed my empty trunk and my purple bag tied with string which was filled with money. I rushed down the stairs to find Toby reclining on the couch, his iPhone 10 in hand. “Toby! Get off your phone!” I scolded my twin.
Toby acted like he didn’t hear me. I knew exactly what to do. “I’ll be back Toby. I left something in my room!” Instead of running upstairs to my room, I pretended to go up to my room then I ran outside. I knocked three times on the door, hard, then ran out of view. “Meghan! Asher is here!”
I giggled. I knew what happened. I took time to get to the door, because I knew Toby was walking while playing The Academy, a game on his phone. I heard the door swing open. Nobody was there. Toby sighed, and I bit my lip not to burst out laughing. Luckily for me, Toby didn’t see that tiny action.
“Toby, get off your stupid phone now! Asher is here!
Toby looked up and tucked away his phone. Asher was a student, who has recently finished his 3rd year. Although Toby and I knew about The Academy, we don’t know how to get to the Medaca Alley, because our parens tragically died in a car crash when Toby and I were just five.
Now, Asher was hot. And I meant it. His brown hair was smooth, and his tall figure was nice and slim. “Hello, I’m Asher, and I’ll be your guide in Medaca today. I’ll be getting my stuff too!”
Asher stuck out his hand to Toby, who took it, and nodded. Then when he stuck his hand to me, I stuttered, “Nice to meet you!” He smiled, and winked at me.
“You too.”
His voice was sweet and rich, and he was very nice. “Meghan and Toby, this is a Aca Stone. As you learn more at The Academy, you will be able to do different things to help you succeed. I am a fourth year, so I’m not that advanced. There are 9 years at the Academy, so you have a long way to go! I managed to read ahead, so I know some 4th year stuff, like this basic Transportation Spell.”
He tapped his stone two times, and then said the words “Tollite me,” and a blue ring of light circled around his stone. Asher continued, “Medaca Alley.” Then he reached for our hands and we grabbed on. “Paratus.” The blue light now moved to circle us, and then it disappeared into a ball of smoke and I felt my body separate into separate particles. My head started to swirl and then I felt me feet hit the ground. I saw Toby on the ground, panting in exhaustion, and then there was Asher, who was still standing like me. Asher smirked at me, and I smirked back. God, he was growing on me.
“Are you going to help me get up, sis?” Toby whined.
“You’re not two anymore. Get up your self.” I snapped at him.
“I like your attitude, girl. Keep it up and you’ll fit right in at The Academy.” Asher whispered into my ear. I jumped.
I didn’t hear or see Asher move behind me. He laughed, and settled a hand on my shoulder. “Sorry to scare you! I didn’t mean it!”
Toby laughed, and I saw him sit up. “So, we are now in Medaca Alley. Until your forth year, I will be picking you up every year to pick up your supplies. Then you will have to do that!” Asher explained.
Toby and I nodded. “So what do we need to get?” Toby inquired, sounding excited.
Asher fumbled through his backpack and found a crumbled piece of paper and two very clean and sleek sheets. He handed the crumpled one to my twin and kept one of the nice ones. He handed the last one to me. “Sorry, I forgot about —.”
“How come my is crumpled up? And Meghan’s isn’t!” Toby complained.
“Obviously because he likes me better!” I exclaimed!
Asher shrugged. “Probably because you were scared during the Transition. If you don’t act confident when you do a Stone Spell, all of yours things, as well as things with your name on it, will be ruined. Take a look at your shirt. See how it’s all crumpled up? That’s why,” Asher explained.
“And Meghan—-?”
“Meghan is beautiful and hot like an angel, because she wasn’t scared. She was calm,” Asher explained.
I blushed, and bit my lip not to burst out in laughter. Toby frowned. “All right, let’s get going.”
I took a look at my list and read:

“All right, let’s get your books first! We need to get some money though. Do you happen to have any on you?”
We both shook our heads. We had no money at all. Even more, we didn’t even know if we had money. “Ok, I need to get mine too. I think your parents invested at the Goldstone Bank. My money is there too.”
He beckoned us to follow him and off we went, down the street, right, and left, then we reached a massive structure that looked like the Colosseum. At the bottom of this amazing piece of architecture was a plague “Founded in 1900 by James Goldstone.”
He lead us through an entrance and we waited in a long line that went by quickly. Within minutes we reached the front of line. “Next,” a cool voice called. Asher led us forward to the waiting person. “Hand.”
Asher reached forward and leant his hand to the accountant. “Asher Winters.” Asher nodded. “Returning Customer?” Asher nodded. “Purpose?”
Asher stated coolly, “Withdraw.”
“Amount?”
“1000 stones.”
The man reached from under his desk, pressed a button, and I could hear stones tumbling and crashing into each other. The man reached over to his smart machine, pressed a few buttons, and handed a red hand string pouch to Asher.
Asher, now with his money, pushed Toby forward. Toby lent his hand, like Asher, and his hand was scanned by the machine. “Toby Buckley.” Toby smiled. “New customer?” Toby smiled once again. “Would you like a list of your information?”
“Yes please,” the man then pressed a few buttons and I could hear paper being printed. The index card was handed over to Toby who beckoned me to see it. It read:
Name: Toby Buckley
Mother: Elizabeth Buckley
Father: Luke Buckley
Sibling(s): Meghan Buckley
Money: 1,000,000 stones
Properties:
Buckley Mansion
Buckley Manor
Buckley Castle
I heard Asher gasp behind me. “Wow! You’re rich!” he exclaimed.
“You good?” the cold voice asked. “Purpose?”
“I want to withdraw 1000 stones.”
The man repeated his procedure and handed over another pouch of the same size. “Your turn, sis.” Toby pushed me forward.
I gave him my hand and he said, “Meghan Buckley. New customer.” He handed me an index card which he had just printed. I was surprised by what I saw.

Adoptive Father: Luke Buckley

“WHAT THE F****?” Asher screamed. “IT’s GALVIN CONNER’s DAUGHTER RIGHT HERE!”
The man shushed Asher. “What’s wrong with that Asher?” I asked innocently.
Asher gaped open mouthed at me. In a soft voice he said, “16 years ago, Galvin Conner invaded The Academy and ruined the hard work of many. After five years of pure terrorism, Galvin had a baby who was to be his heir. He was disappointed when he found it was a girl. He decided that the girl would help him return to power, should he loose at any given point. He gave the girl a piece of information that would reveal itself to her when she became of age. In our world, the Becoming of Age Ceremony takes place after one’s 4th year. After he took care of the girl for two years, he left her on the street. Galvin tried again 3 years later. Again, it was a girl. He gave his second daughter another clue to helping him regain power. He took care of that girl for three years, then left her on the street. The two clues won’t make sense unless put together. Galvin soon became impatient and started killing every day. On his third try one year later, he got a son. This son is currently training in his father’s ranks.”
It took me a while to process that information. I realized something: dad was wrong. I would not help him return to power. I would use his information to vanquish him forever. I would be Good. “So, basically I have a sister who is thirteen and a brother who is twelve. Toby is my adoptive brother.”
I stared at my adoptive brother. He looked shock. Asher said, “Yes, that is correct.”
“Toby, are you ok?” I asked my dear younger brother. “Yes.”
“Listen, Meghan. Your adoptive parents did their best to fight you real parents. They did not die on a car crash. Elizabeth and Luke Buckley died in the Third Stone War. When they died, Luke’s brother Owen returned to the Good side. He had made the Lord of Darkness promise not to harm them. But when Galvin did, Owen left. He became a good source of information for us. We were then able to defeat him. Now is your big decision: Do you want to help your father rise once again? Or do you want to make sure he doesn’t rise? Do you want to avenge your adoptive parent’s death?”
Toby responded first to Asher although I do not know why. “I will get my revenge on Galvin Conner!”
I nodded too. “Good.” Asher said. “I was worried I might need to have thrown you into Stonehigh Prison.”
We both frowned. Asher laughed. “Let’s get our books!”
I grabbed my empty trunk and my purple bag tied with string which was filled with money. I rushed down the stairs to find Toby reclining on the couch, his iPhone 10 in hand. “Toby! Get off your phone!” I scolded my twin.
